Process::::

OK. Let's get this ball rolling. Here's a bit of a summary of our way forward as we've already discussed in our meetings:
Step 1:
Choose an image. Keep in mind the theme for this rotation "Imperfection is beauty". Don't get too hung up on it. It's more a theme for the process not just an initial idea. The important thing is to pick something to pass on to the next person to work with.

Step 2:
Using the diagram below, contact your next person and organise a format (digital image, photocopy, painting, drawing etc) and a way to exchange it (meet up and pass it on, email it etc).  This should be done ASAP. I reckon no later than Wednesday (30th March) otherwise you'll be restricting the time that the other person has to work on your piece.

Step 3:
Alter/reinterpret/deconstruct/add to/remake/burn/erase the original piece of art in whichever way you see fit. Journal you're thinking and process- post it on this blog if you like. Whatever works for you.

Step 4:
Meet up next Monday (4th April) and bring along your first altered piece ready to pass on to the next person.

I think it's worth saying that it's really important that we all check this blog every couple of days. It should be set up to email you when a new comment or post is added. Anyways, it's gonna be a pretty key form of communication between us all as well as a place to externalise our process for assessment purposes.

Here's everyone's email addresses if that's of use:

QUOTES::::

"I call architecture frozen music"
Johann Goethe, Letter to Eckermann

"War is peace, freedom is slavery, ignorance is strength."
George Orwell, 1984

"Nature doesn't make long speeches"

Found some quotes!

Went along with the fifteen minutes of fame thing we discussed and looked up some quotes...

In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes. - Andy Warhol

Talent is God-given. Be Humble. Fame is man-given. Be grateful. Conceit is self-given. Be careful. - John Wooden

The fact that my 15 minutes of fame has extended a little longer than 15 minutes is somewhat surprising to me and completely baffling to my wife. - Barack Obama

Don't confuse fame with success. Madonna is one; Helen Keller is the other. - Erma Bombeck

Fame is the thirst of youth. - Lord Byron

Some people obtain fame, others deserve it. - Doris Lessing

The fame that goes with wealth and beauty is fleeting and fragile; intellectual superiority is a possession glorious and eternal. - Sallust

I could go on, but I'll leave it at that for now.
- Lucie

Camille's 5 images

These are some of my drawings and paintings. I'm pretty simple, these are acrylic paint, black texta pen and pencils. Excuse shitty quality, scanner takes a lot of the bright colour away. Man I hope I did this right, I need someone to sit down with me and show me how to use this thing properly! /how to use a computer in general.

5 images from Lucie

Hey guys! Here's some of my photography. This is stuff from my flickr photostream, so it's all personal stuff; not from TAFE. I'll add a couple of drawings too.

And a drawing now.

I didn't really put a lot of effort into the drawing. It was just something I cranked out, out of boredom in about 10 minutes. I did that with markers, hence why it looks all funny in the middle of the flower. I used a lot of ink for that part.

WELCOME TO OUR ONLINE COLLABORATION SPACE

Facebook is good for sending messages and stalking people but this will be a good way of sharing visual stuff. Once I have invited everyone via email, we'll all be able to log in and post and comment on anything that we decide to contribute to this space. It's also a good record of our progress outside of when we meet together.

I thought that the first thing we could do is post 5 images of the art that you have made so far. That way we can continue to learn a bit about what kinda stuff we each like to do. Here's my five for you to look at.

On top of that, here's some links to a couple of other blogs that put together. The first is just stuff I collect, the other two are photos that I've taken on trips away.

And this is my DJing/music blog:
